The Internal Revenue
Service is nearing an agreement to allow immigration officials to use tax data to
confirm the names and addresses of people suspected of being in the country
illegally, according to four people familiar with the matter, culminating weeks
of negotiations over using the tax system to support President Donald Trump’s
mass deportation campaign.
The I.R.S. is
nearing an agreement to verify whether ICE officials have the right address for
people they are trying to deport.
